HANOVER, N.H. — The 11th-ranked Dartmouth women's squash team fell short against No. 2 Trinity on Friday, 9-0. Sophomore
Maria Clara Ramírez won her third game at the No. 1 position, but couldn't complete the comeback. A number of other games were close, but the Big Green couldn't get over the hump.
After a slim 11-8 defeat in the second game, Ramírez won her third game, 11-7. However, Trinity's Jana Safy captured the fourth game, 11-2 for the victory.Â
Also of note, senior
Priya Verma at the No. 4 position staged a big comeback in the third game. She was on the brink, trailing 10-6 before her furious rally. She was ever-so close to pulling off the victory before falling in a marathon, 17-15.
The Nos. 6 and 7 positions were extremely tight with senior
Emily Schuster falling 11-8, 12-10, 11-9 and Taylor losing 11-9, 11-8, 11-7.
The Big Green return to action on Sunday for another tough test, at No. 7 Yale. The match is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
