ROAD TRIP
The Dartmouth men's hockey team is set to go on the road this weekend to take on Princeton on Friday evening followed by Quinnipiac on Saturday night.
THREE POINTS AT HOME
The Big Green earned three points last weekend on home ice. Dartmouth fell to Colgate, 4-3, in overtime on Friday evening to earn a point.
Luke Haymes tallied two goals while
Joey Musa also lit the lamp.
Dartmouth bounced back the next night, skating to a 2-2 tie against nationally ranked Cornell and won the ensuing shootout to claim the extra point in the ECAC Hockey standings.
Sean Chisholm scored on the power play during the second period and also scored the first goal for the Big Green in the shootout.
CJ Foley netted his third goal of the year and
Braiden Dorfman also found the back of the net in the shootout.
Cooper Black made 47 saves over the course of both games.
PENALTY KILL AMONG THE BEST
Dartmouth ranks seventh in Division I this season in the penalty kill with a penalty killing percentage of 86.1%, which ranks third in ECAC Hockey.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton comes into Friday's game with a 7-11-2 overall record and a 5-7-1 record in ECAC Hockey. The Tigers were swept by No. 14 Cornell (6-2) and Colgate (6-3) in their last league weekend back on Jan. 19-20. They played Army West Point in a mid-week non-conference tilt on Tuesday night, winning 4-3 in overtime.
Jack Cronin leads Princeton in goals with 10 while Adam Robbins has a team-high 20 points and is tied for first in assists (12). Robbins also sits second for goals with eight. Noah de la Durantaye and David Jacobs both have 12 assists this season.
The Tigers have utilized three goaltenders this season in Arthur Smith, Ethan Pearson and Conor Callaghan. They have combined to make 545 saves with a save percentage of .876 and a goals against average of 3.81.
The Big Green are 109-92-17 all-time against the Tigers with a 50-50-8 record on the road. Dartmouth claimed a 5-4 victory over Princeton earlier this season at Thompson Arena.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac enters the weekend with a 17-6-2, 10-2-1 record and will face Harvard on Friday evening. The Bobcats are ranked No. 7 in the latest national polls and claimed the CT Ice trophy after earning victories over Yale (1-0) and UConn (4-3).
Collin Graf leads Quinnipiac goals (14), assists (18) and points (32). In Division I this season, Graf is third in points per game (1.60), seventh in goals per game (.70) and ninth in assists per game (.90).
Sam Lipkin, Mason Marcellus and Jacob Quillan each have 11 goals for the Bobcats. Jayden Lee is second on the team in assists with 17 while Davis Pennington and Lipkin sit third with 16.
Vinny Duplessis has played 18 games in goal this season and has made 401 saves along with a .918 save percentage, which is good for third-best in the league.
Quinnipiac earned two ECAC Hockey weekly awards this past week. Duplessis was named the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week while Marcellus was recognized as the Rookie of the Week.
The Big Green are 10-27-4 all-time against the Bobcats. Dartmouth has the upper hand on Quinnipiac this season, however, as the two teams played to a 2-2 tie earlier this season with the Big Green earning the extra point in the shootout.
