HANOVER, N.H. – The Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country,
Mike Nelson, has announced the hiring of
Adam Lufkin as an assistant coach with the Track and Field program to specialize in throws.
"We're thrilled to have Coach
Adam Lufkin joining the Big Green track & field coaching staff. He will bring tremendous energy and enthusiasm to our squad. He's had quite a bit of success at CSU-Pueblo having coached 13 D2 All-Americans in three years. He's familiar with our facilities and the Hanover area having competed here several times while in college. We've had a long tradition of success in the throwing events. I believe that Coach Lufkin will continue that legacy of excellence. Go Big Green!" said Nelson.
Lufkin enters his tenth season of coaching, specializing in the throws.
Previously at Colorado State University-Pueblo, the throwers were responsible for 13 individual All-Americans in the shot put, including 5 National Runner-Up finishes, in 3 seasons.
Before that, he received a degree in child development from the University of Maine, where he threw the discus and the shot put, claiming all-conference honors every year in the America East conference, as well as a first-place finish in the discus in 2018. This qualified him for the Division 1 East preliminary round.
He then spent four years as a high school coach in Maine, accumulating multiple team and individual state New England titles.
