The Richards Group – Athletes of the Week – Sailing Duo and Varsity Eight

HANOVER, N.H.--The Dartmouth sailing duo of Chase Decker and Phoebe Lee and the Dartmouth men's eights rowing team have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week following tremendous weekends in the water.

Chase Decker, Fy., Newport Beach, California and Phoebe Lee, Jr., Edgewood, R.I.

Chase Decker and Phoebe Lee competed at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship this past weekend, winning the B Division and helping the Big Green to a second-place overall finish. The pair earned second and fourth place finishing positions to start racing. Despite earning a BKD in their third race and collecting 22 points, the pair earned three top five finishing positions over the last four races, including two fourth place finishing positions, to secure the B Division win, beating Stanford, the regatta winners by one point.

Varsity Eight, Men's Heavyweight Rowing
The Varsity Eight of the men's heavyweight rowing team put forth a stellar performance in the Men's Championship Eights event at the prestigious Head of the Charles. In an elite event which featured a number of Olympians, the Big Green finished third overall as the second collegiate crew to finish. The Big Green posted a time of 13:55.261 in the three-mile, 4,800 meter course, finishing ahead of defending national champion Washington.
