HANOVER, N.H. — Three weeks, three Special Teams Player of the Week awards for the Big Green. On Monday, Owen Zalc was recognized with his second straight honor after hitting both field goals and extra points he attempted in Dartmouth's 20-17 Ivy League opening victory over Penn.
Â
Zalc connected on both field goals he attempted — of 42 yards in the second quarter and 39 in the fourth. His 39-yarder six seconds into the fourth gave Dartmouth a 20-14 lead and proved to be the difference in the big Ivy League opening win. On the season, he is 6-for-7 on field goals and 9-for-9 on extra points, with his only miss being a 50-yarder.
Â
Monday marks Zalc's sixth-career Ivy League weekly award and second straight. Last season, he was named the league's rookie of the week three times and special teams player of the week once. In 2024, the Big Green are now 3-for-3 in Ivy special teams weekly awards, with Jordan Washington also receiving the honor due to his field goal block and ensuing 60-yard return for a touchdown vs. Fordham.
Â
The Big Green hit the road for Yale this Saturday a 12 p.m. matchup against the Bulldogs. Dartmouth returns home on Saturday, Oct. 19 to host Central Connecticut State at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
