CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team fell 4-0 to host Harvard on Sunday morning to cap the ECAC Championship. The Big Green, who were coming off Saturday's thrilling 4-3 victory over Penn, placed sixth.
Dartmouth nearly had the doubles point with
Lexi Dewire and
Caroline Lemcke providing a strong start on Court 3, but
Brooke Hess and
Katie Weber couldn't clinch it in a close 7-5 decision at No. 2 after
Michela Moore and
Peyton Capuano saw a similar fate on Court 1.
Three straight-set Crimson victories sealed the match, although Capuano and Moore had both won first sets on Courts 1 and 2 respectively. Lemcke was in the midst of a tiebreaker in Set 1 when the match was clinched.
After nearly two weeks off, the Big Green are back in action with a trip to Maryland to square off with Georgetown at Woodmont Country Club (Rockville, Md.) on Saturday, Feb. 24. Dartmouth will also visit Navy the following day.
