PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The College Squash Association (CSA) finalized rankings for team championships Tuesday, placing both the Big Green men and women in the top 12. The CSA will host five different championships through February and into March, dividing teams based on their rank, and then hosting individual and doubles championships.
The Big Green men's and women's squash team both finished in the top 12, placing them in the 2024 CSA National Collegiate Team Championships to be held February 29 through March 3 at the Arlen Specter Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Big Green men finished the season with a 6-8 record and were ranked No. 10 by the CSA. With the top 12 finish, they will compete at the team championships for the Potter Cup.
The women's squash team finished the season with an identical record to their male counterparts, collecting a No. 11 ranking. The top 12 finish places the Big Green women in the championship tournament for the Howe Cup.
The top four teams will receive a bye and will not play on the first day of the tournament. The remaining eight teams will play each other with the winners moving on to face the top four teams.
While the Big Green have wrapped up their season, other teams are competing through this week so it is still undetermined as to who the Big Green will play in the opening round. Despite this, the Douglas A. Donahue Jr. 1973 Head Coach of Men's and Women's Squash
Vikram Malhotra says the Big Green's seeding will most likely not change. If the overall rankings do not change, the No. 11 women will face No. 6 Stanford in the first round while the No. 10 men will play No. 7 Cornell.
Once competition completes, more information on match schedules and official opponents will be made available on DartmouthSports.com.
