CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Dartmouth women's track and field team opened competition at the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships on Saturday. Numerous Big Green athletes performed well in the prelims of their respective events, setting up for a promising team display on Sunday in the event finals.
Bridget McNally took fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.88m, earning two points for the Big Green.
Olivia Jelsma finished seventh in the pentathlon, scoring a personal best 3371 points over the five events. Jelsma ended the day on a high note with a win in the 800m race with a time of 2:18.96.
Jada Jones won Heat 4 of the 400m race and took fourth overall with a time of 55.31 to advance to the finals tomorrow. Jones later competed in the prelims of the 200m race, winning Heat 4 and finishing fifth overall to advance to the finals of the event tomorrow.
Bella Pietrasiewicz finished fourth in the prelims of the 1000m race with a time of 2:49.86 to advance to the finals of the event.
Mariella Schweitzer finished eighth in the 60m hurdles prelims with a time of 8.72 seconds, the second-fastest time in program history, to move onto the finals tomorrow.
Andie Murray advanced to the final of the mile after finishing in fifth in the prelims with a time of 4:50.14.
Joy Enaohwo qualified for the finals of the 60m dash after placing seventh in the prelims with a time of 7.64 seconds.
Annie Jackson finished sixth in the first round of the 800m race with a time of 2:11.30 and will move on to the finals tomorrow.
The championships resume tomorrow morning at the Gordon Indoor Track. Fans will be able to follow along with live results through Leone Timing or by tuning in on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
