ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Wrapping up the Maryland trip and riding the momentum of an exciting 4-3 win over Georgetown, the Dartmouth women's tennis team was edged by a score of 4-3 against Navy on Sunday morning in Annapolis.
The Big Green dropped the doubles point and nearly came out on top in a back-and-forth affair, but ultimately came up short when the Midshipmen claimed the last two singles matches.
Peyton Capuano and
Michela Moore contributed the lone doubles win for the Big Green, who went on to eventually take a 3-2 lead in singles thanks to victories from
Caroline Lemcke (No. 4),
Lexi Dewire (No. 3) and
Katie Weber (No. 5). With only a couple three-setters remaining, the Mids needed to win and were able to do so, with Samantha Johns earning the clincher on Court 2.
Dartmouth returns home onSaturday, March 2 to host UMass at Boss Tennis Center starting at 12:30 p.m.
