PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Coming off a win over Tufts yesterday, the Big Green were looking to continue momentum and avenge a loss to Cornell from earlier in the season. The Big Green collected individual match wins at the fifth and eighth position and battled in a few more matches, but ultimately fell to the Big Red, 7-2.
With the win, the Big Red clinch the ninth position in the final standings while the Big Green finish tenth.
The Big Green's wins came courtesy of
Quintin Campbell at the fifth position and
Callan Venkatesan at the eighth position. Campbell won the first two games of the match, 11-5 and 11-9. Unfortunately, the match did not finish but Campbell did receive the win as he was leading at the time.
Venkatesan and Cornell's Tanay Punjabi traded victories in the first two games, before Venkatesan was able to win two straight, including an 11-0 victory in the third game, to win the match 3-1.
Christian Shah,
Felix Feldman, and
Rana Thakkar were all able to get on the board in their matches but could not generate enough momentum to take the match victory. Shah and Thakkar each forced five games, including Shah's 16-14 win in the first game, while Feldman was able to win one of the four games he played.
