HANOVER, N.H. – Following a training trip in South Carolina, the sailing team returned to the Northeast to compete in three regattas during the second weekend of the spring season. The Big Green competed in the Boston University Team Race, the Aaron Szambecki Team Race, and the Seahawk Women's Team Race.
In round one of the Aaron Szambecki Team Race, the Big Green posted a 6-2 record, collecting first place finishes against all but two teams. One of their two losses came against the eventual regatta winners, Navy.
In the second round of the regatta, the Big Green went 3-4, collecting wins against George Washington, Hobart & William, and Charleston, giving Dartmouth a 9-6 record on the day for a fourth-place finish.
At the BU Team Race on Saturday, the Big Green faced cold and rainy weather, only completing one round robin. Dartmouth won its first two races against Brown and Coast Guard, collecting first place finishing positions in both races. Skippers

The Big Green finished third at the Seahawk Women's Team Race, posting a 15-6 overall record. In round one, Dartmouth collected first place finishes in all but one race, also beating the eventual regatta winners, Charleston.
Dartmouth also posted a 7-2 record in round two of the regatta, beating the second-place team Cornell. The Big Green also swept the top three finishing positions against five of the nine teams.
In the final four race, the Big Green beat Pennsylvania with a first, second and sixth place finish, but lost to both Charleston and Cornell to finish third overall in the regatta.
The Big Green will return to the water next weekend when they race in three more regattas. They will travel to the Marchiando Team Race hosted by MIT, the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race at Brown, and the Jumbo Team Race at Tufts.
