AIKEN, S.C. – Tyler Brand carded a 71-66—137 (-3) over the first two rounds of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, allowing the Dartmouth first-year to wrap up the day in a tie for second place, four strokes off the pace. The Big Green shot 44-over par (604) as a team to place 15
th in the 15-team field.
South Carolina – Aiken and East Carolina are currently tied atop the leaderboard at 5-over par (565) with Davidson sitting just one stroke behind at 6-over par (566).
Brand had four birdies on the back nine during the first round, but was undone by two double bogeys, ending the round at 1-over par. He put on a quality performance in the second round, finishing with seven birdies while shooting par on nine holes.
Fin Szafnauer finished the day at +14 with
Cameron Keith not far behind at +16. Charles Baker carded a 77-81—158 (+18) and rounding out the shooting for the day for the Big Green was
Aaron Zhang, who finished at +24.
Tied for second alongside Brand is Rory McDonald O'Brien of South Carolina – Aiken, with both chasing Will Davis of Davidson, who leads after carding a 67-66—133.
