Sung Leads Way on Saturday for Big Green

Dartmouth’s seniors impressed on Saturday
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Led by senior Katherine Sung, the Dartmouth women's golf team wrapped up action at the Navy Spring Invitational on Saturday. Through 18 holes, the Big Green stand in seventh place, shooting 41-over-329.
"Very challenging playing conditions," said Alex Kirk, Carolyn A. Pelzel '54a Head Coach of Women's Golf. "There were 30+ mph winds with firm fast greens, which created a challenge. We battled, but need to dig in tomorrow and bounce back. Katherine played a solid round with two odd holes. It was good prep for Ivies with current playing conditions."
Sung is tied for third overall at 4-over-76 while classmate Penelope Tir was the Big Green's next finisher, tied for 12th at 8-over-80. Sophomore Sophie Thai is tied for 20th at 10-over-82.
First-year Caroline Chung shot 19-over-91, with sophomore Kim Shen at 21-over-93.
The Big Green wrap up the Navy Spring Invitational on Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
