ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Dartmouth women's golf team bounced back from a tough Saturday with a stellar Sunday, shooting 17-over-305 over the final round at the Navy Spring Invitational to finish tied for fourth place overall. The Big Green shot 58-over-634 for the tournament, tied with Ivy League foe Columbia and only trailing Penn (+36), Quinnipiac (+44) and host Navy (+52). Individually, senior
Katherine Sung was tied for second overall at 6-over-150 for the tournament.

"Today was still windy at 20 miles per hour, but instead of the 35-40 yesterday, it was a little easier to manage," said
Alex Kirk, Carolyn A. Pelzel '54a Head Coach of Women's Golf. Â "Proud of the team effort. We improved by 24 shots, yet need to work on closing the gap with UPenn. Good news in our league is any Ivy team can compete on any given day."
Â
On Sunday, Sung shot an impressive 2-over-74 to finish the tournament at 6-over-150. Classmate
Penelope Tir also finished tied for 10th overall at 12-over-156. That included shooting 4-over-76 over the final 18 holes.
Â
In addition, sophomore
Sophie Thai was tied for 14th at 14-over-158, including 4-over-76 on Sunday. Sophomore
Kim Shen and first-year
Caroline Chung both tied for 48th at 28-over-172.
Hope Hall was tied for 30th at 19-over-163 competing as an individual.
Â
The Big Green return to action next weekend for the Ivy League Championship set for Friday through Sunday in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Â
"I feel we are heading into the right direction going into Ivies next week," said Kirk. "I like our chances this year. This is a special group of ladies."
