PHILADELPHIA — Much like Saturday's match at Princeton, the Dartmouth women's tennis team earned the doubles before faltering in singles, resulting in a 4-1 loss to Penn in the Big Green's final road match of the season.
Elizabeth Fahrmeier and
Lexi Dewire started with a 6-2 victory on Court 1 before
Michela Moore and
Peyton Capuano clinched the point for the Big Green on Court 2 with their 6-4 win.
Brooke Hess and
Caroline Lemcke were ahead 6-5 in the remaining match.
In singles, Penn was able to use four straight-set triumphs, including the clincher from Maya Urata at the No. 6 position, to close out the match. Capuano had won the second set on Court 1 and was battling Sabine Rutlauka in a third when the match ended.
The Big Green are back home for the final match of the 2024 season, hosting Harvard on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m.
