HANOVER, N.H. — After winning its first Ivy League Championship in program history, the Dartmouth women's golf team landed several postseason Ivy League awards, including a unanimous Coach of the Year honor for Carolyn A. Pelzel '54a Head Coach
Alex Kirk.
The honor marks Kirk's second of his career, also winning it in 2019.
Senior
Katherine Sung and sophomore
Sophie Thai were named First Team All-Ivy for finishing in the top five at this past weekend's Ivy League Championship, and senior
Penelope Tir landed on the second team for finishing between sixth and 10th.
Sung and Thai each tied for second overall, shooting 6-over-222. Tir tied for 10th after a sensational Sunday in which she shot 2-under-70, which was the best score for a single round across the Ivy League all weekend. She finished the weekend at 10-over-226.
This marks the second straight season the Big Green had three All-Ivy honorees, but the first time in program history they've had two on the first team. Dartmouth did have two in 1997 before the honors were split into first and second team.
Sung was also named Academic All-Ivy for the combination of her athletic and academic prowess.
The Big Green are off to the Las Vegas region for the NCAA Championships, which are set for May 6-8.
