PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team came up short in its Ivy League opener, dropping a 4-0 decision on the road to Brown on Friday afternoon.
Despite a victory from
Brooke Hess and
Caroline Lemcke on Court 3, the Big Green were unable to claim the doubles point. Singles wins from Ali Benedetto, Gabby Soliman and Dani Ben-Abraham were enough to clinch the match for the Bears.
Peyton Capuano had forced a third set, and was leading in the third at No. 1 singles, when the match was clinched. Fellow first-year
Caroline Lemcke also won a set, but fell in a three-setter on Court 5.
Following Friday's loss, the Big Green are back in Boss Tennis Center for the first time in over a month on Sunday, April 7 when they host Yale at 1 p.m.
