HANOVER, N.H. – On Monday, the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced this year's Krampade All-American Scholars, honoring five members of the Big Green men's hockey team.
Â
Student-athletes that have earned a 3.75 grade point average during each semester and appeared in 40% of their team's games earned the All-American Scholar.
Â
This year,
Eric Charpentier,
Cam MacDonald,
Tucker McRae,
Nikita Nikora, and
Steven Townley earned the honor.
Â
Charpentier, the first-year defenseman, played in every game for the Big Green, tallying 11 points, third-best among defensemen. His +2 rating also ranked second best among blue liners. Charpentier scored his first career point against Quinnipiac, tallying an assist. He scored his first career goal, the lone goal of the game, on the road against the Brown Bears.
Â
MacDonald played in every game but one, tallying 13 points during his sophomore season. He first assisted offensively in the second game of the season, tallying an assist against in-state rival UNH. Â
Sophomore defenseman McRae tripled his goals from his first year, netting three goals and collecting four assists for 11 total points. He scored his first goal of the year against UConn and tallied his only multi-point game of the season in a 5-5 tie against the Crimson.
Â
Tallying 20 points for third best on the team in only 25 games, Nikora had a breakout first season. He tallied his first point in only his third game of the season, following up the performance with a three-assist night in a 5-4 win against the Princeton Tigers. He scored his first collegiate career goal only two games later, defeating the Colgate Raiders. Nikora also rode a six-game scoring streak, tallying an assist in every game, also adding a goal in the first game at Arizona State.
