The Big Green hold the Eagles scoreless for 83 minutes

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's soccer team falls 1-0 against ACC opponent Boston College on Thursday night at Burnham Field. The Big Green held the Eagles scoreless for nearly 83 minutes.Â

With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 2-1 this season, experiencing its first loss in the 2024 campaign. Meanwhile, BC improves to 5-0.Â

Boston College was first to try an attacking attempt but were stopped by senior goalkeeper, Ally Connors. In response, Dartmouth quickly turned on the attack to get two shots at the BC keeper.  With a great defensive effort by the Big Green, Boston College could not find the back of the goal, 0-0.Â

At the start of the second period, Dartmouth quickly found scoring opportunities. Both teams battled for possession in the last 45 minutes but were left scoreless. At the end of the 82nd minute, BC shot a long ball that trickled its way into the net for the game-winning goal, 1-0.Â

Fifth-year Daisy Granholm had three shots with one on goal and junior Mary Lundregan collected two shots. Seniors Danielle Burke and Aleena Seales each had one shot on goal.Â

Connors collected six saves in 90 minutes of play.Â

Dartmouth returns to play on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. to face Stonehill at Burnham Field. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
