HANOVER, N.H. – On Tuesday, Head Coach of the open and women's sailing programs
Justin Assad announced the first half of the Big Green's 2024-25 schedule.
The Big Green's season will get underway this weekend, September 7, when they travel to four regattas over the weekend, three of which will take place on the Charles River. They will head to the Harry Anderson Trophy hosted by Yale and the Toni Deutsch Trophy hosted by MIT on Saturday and Sunday while also competing in two regattas hosted by Harvard on Saturday.
The following weekend, Dartmouth will send representatives to the Women's and Open NEISA Singlehanded Championship hosted by Brown on the 14 and 15 while also competing at the Hatch Brown Trophy hosted by MIT, the Regis Trophy hosted by Harvard, and the Barnett Trophy hosted by Bowdoin.
On September 21 and 22, the Big Green will host the first of two regattas on Lake Mascoma, starting with the Mrs. Hurst Trophy. They will also compete at the Hoyt Trophy hosted by Brown and the Ross Trophy hosted by UVM. The Big Green will look for another strong performance on the Catamounts' home course, hoping to build off their first-place finish at the Callagy Ross Trophy hosted by UVM last fall.
The Big Green will close September at four regattas, traveling to the Coast Guard Academy, Rhode Island, and MIT. They will also compete in the first round of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship hosted by Brown and Connecticut College.
In the first regattas of October, the women's team will head back to Connecticut College to compete in the Women's Stu Nelson regatta while the rest of the team will compete at Bowdoin and Middlebury. The Open Atlantic Coast Championship will also get underway at St. Mary's College and the Naval Academy.
October 12 and 13 will be a big weekend for the Big Green as they prepare for their second home regatta of the fall season and compete in the finals of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. Dartmouth will also travel to in state rival UNH for the Peak Foliage Invitational.
The following weekend will see the conclusion of the Open Atlantic Coast Championship while the Big Green will also send sailors to the Yale Women's regatta and the Oberg Trophy hosted by MIT.
The sailing team will conclude October at three regattas, two of which will be hosted by Ivy League opponents Yale and Brown.
To wrap up the fall season, the Big Green will head to Florida, sailing at the Women's and Open Singlehanded National Championship.
