HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 7-0 win over DePaul at Boss Tennis Center on Saturday.
Doubles
The match started with Alex Knox-Jones and Hikaru Takeda securing a win in second doubles. The Big Green duo won the match 6-3.
Miles Groom and Yujiro Onuma secured the doubles point for the Big Green with a 7-5 win in third doubles.
In the first doubles match, Carlos Guerrero Alvarez and Waleed Qadir were tied at five when the match ended due to the doubles point being won.
Singles
Guerrero Alvarez opened singles in the first position and notched his second win of the season winning in two sets. He won the opening set 6-3 before closing out the match with a 6-4 win in the second set.
Takeda took home the win in his second singles match. He cruised in the first set with a 6-1 win before closing out the sweep with a 7-6 win in the second set.
Henry Ren was slotted in third singles on Saturday. He dropped his first set 6-4 but responded with a 6-4 win of his own in the second set. In the third and deciding set, he won 10-6 for the Big Green.
Onuma played in the fourth singles position to open the weekend. In the first set he won 6-2 and then completed the sweep with a 6-1 win in the second set.
Groom finished off his 2-0 day with a sweep in fifth singles. He won the first set 6-4 and earned the win with a 6-3 win in the second set.
Knox-Jones played sixth singles on Saturday. The senior notched a 6-1, 6-1 win to complete his 2-0 day.
Dartmouth closes out the weekend on Sunday as Le Moyne travels to Hanover. First serve is slated for 11 AM at Boss Tennis Center.
