REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.—The Dartmouth women's golf team closed out the fall season over the weekend at the Battle on the Beach hosted by Delaware. Dartmouth tied for third in the event with Harvard.
Sophie Thai finished tied for 12th as she finished +6 for Dartmouth. She opened the tournament by shooting a +2 74 with one birdie. In the second round on Saturday, she finished +1 with a 73 with a roller coaster of a round. She had five birdies including three straight on four, five, and six. On Sunday, she closed out the tournament by shooting a +3 75.
Olivia Cong tied for 12th were her teammate and four others as she shot +6. She opened the tournament at +4 with a 76 in the first round but shot a +1 73 in the second round as she birdied the first and 16th. On Sunday, she shot a second +1 73 with a birdie on four and 13. It is the second time this season she had finished in the top 15.
Sophia Li tied for 21st in close out her first collegiate fall as she shot a +8 over the three rounds. She shot a +3 75 in the opening round on Saturday with birdies on seven and 11. In the second round she shot a +3 74, she birdied the 12th hole in the second round. In the final round she shot a +3 75 while birding 12 and 17.
Hope Hall tied for 31st as she played in her final fall event of her collegiate career. She finished +11, in the opening round she had birdies on one, two, and 17 as she shot a 74. After shooting an 80 in the second round, she posted her best score in the third round with a +1 73.
Caroline Chung finished a stroke back of Hall as she finished tied for 35th with a +12. She started the tournament with a +3 75 on Saturday and then shot a +1 73 in the second round on Saturday. She birdied seven, nine, and 12. She closed the weekend with an 8- on Sunday.
Alissa Xu played as an individual and finished tied for 42nd for Dartmouth. In the opening round she shot a +3 75 with birdies on six and 14. In the second round she finished with a 77 while birding the second, seventh, and 12th. She closed the weekend with a +6 78 in the third round.
The Big Green close the fall season with two top five finishes as a team while finishing in the top 10 in each fall tournament. Dartmouth will be back on the course in the spring with the championship season starting in February.
