HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth Athletics has unveiled a major new addition to Rupert C. Thompson Arena: state-of-the-art, four-sided, center-hung videoboards that will transform the game-day experience for fans, coaches, and student-athletes alike. Home to Dartmouth's men's and women's ice hockey programs, Thompson Arena continues to evolve as one of college hockey's most iconic venues.
Suspended above center ice, the four-sided videoboards measure 8.2 feet high by 13.1 feet wide per screen, with a 360-degree, 2.46-foot-high by 44.3-foot-long LED ring encircling below as well as an additional static scoreboard. Together, they will immerse fans in every moment of the action through crystal-clear video, dynamic graphics, and real-time game information.

"The new videoboards elevate Thompson Arena, the playing and fan experience, and bring our hockey programs to another level in college sports," Maura Crowell, Head Coach of Dartmouth Women's Hockey said. "It fits seamlessly and is an exciting first step in our renovations to the facility."
"The installation of these videoboards is a powerful step forward in our ongoing renovations at Thompson Arena," Mike Harrity, Haldeman Family Director of Athletics and Recreation said. "It reflects Dartmouth's broader investment in creating a best-in-class environment where our entire community of students, student-athletes, faculty, staff, and fans can come together to enjoy an electric game-day experience."

As renovations continue including new locker rooms, lounges, and training spaces, the videoboards represent a major leap forward for in venue production and storytelling, enhancing both the competitive and spectator experience.
"Our new videoboards will elevate both the fan and student-athlete experience inside Thompson Arena," Reid Cashman, Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey said. "Thompson is already a tough place to play on any given night, and the new videoboard will help create an atmosphere that's among the best in college hockey."
This marks the second consecutive year that new videoboards have been unveiled, following last year's improvements to Leede Arena, home to Dartmouth Volleyball and Men's and Women's Basketball, made possible through the generosity of the Stephen Lewinstein Family '63, P'98.
Tickets for the 2025–26 men's and women's hockey seasons are now on sale.
