GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday, College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its men's soccer academic all-district honorees, recognizing junior Douglas Arveskär and sophomore
Panagiotis Karagiorgis.
In order to qualify, student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and competed in either 90% of their team's contests or started 66% of its games.
Arveskär, an economics major, played in all but one game during his junior season, making five total starts. He played 498 total minutes, including a season high of 66 against the Penn Quakers. Arveskär tallied one point, collecting an assist on the Big Green's lone goal at Brown.
Karagiorgis also appeared in 13 games at center back for the Big Green, only coming off the bench once. The sophomore played 1,045 total minutes, going the full 90-minutes in 11 of his 13 appearances, including all seven Ancient Eight contests. His minutes total was fourth best on the team.
This is both Arveskär and Karagiorgis' first time earning academic all-district honors.
