BOSTON, MASS -The Dartmouth Track & Field team made history in more ways than one at the John Thomas Terrier Classic this weekend.
Bella Pietrasiewicz etched her name into NCAA history on Friday, ranking third all-time with her 2:39.85 finish in the 1000m run. She is the fourth collegiate athlete to record a time under 2:40 in the 1000m this season.
The senior middle-distance runner also topped her own school record in the 1000m. She currently holds six spots on the Dartmouth women's indoor top 10 list, three of which were earned this year.
"It was a great weekend of track & field for the Big Green. We had some exceptional performances at the BU Terrier Invitational. I want to commend the coaching staff as we had some awesome marks in all event areas. It was great to see so many new additions to our record books! I like the trajectory of our team as we start the march toward the championship portion of our season. Go Big Green!" Daniela Ruelas Lomeli put herself at No. 5 all-time in the 60m hurdles with a final time of 8.80. Mariella Schweitzer, who holds the program record, went on to win the event, clocking a time of 8.70.
Zaneta Pivcova ranks No. 9 all-time in the shot put after boasting a 14.12m victory. Autumn Clark placed third in the event with her 13.77m throw.
Madeleine Locher grabbed the final top ten placement for the women, now ranking No. 5 all-time in the 3000m with a time of 9:18.19.
Murray and Blake rewrote the top ten list in their individual events as well. Murray broke his own program record in the 400m with his 47.21 finish, while Blake ranks No. 2 all-time in the 1000m after his 2:22.33 performance.
David Adams picked up a victory for Dartmouth in the pole vault, clinching the event with a 4.75m performance.
Colton McMaster won the shot put and the weight throw for the Big Green. He etched himself into the third all-time spot in the shot put with a 17.80m finish. Max Klein placed second in the event with a 17.31m throw.
McMaster now ranks No. 5 all-time in the weight throw thanks to a 20.25m finish.
Albert Velikonja notched the final top ten position for the Big Green, ranking fourth all-time in the 3000m with his 7:57.01 performance. Bryce Thomas was the runner-up for the 60m dash with his 6.83 finish. Jack Inglis came in third place in the 60m hurdles.
