Â
GAME 1: Ohio 1, Dartmouth 0
The first two innings went scoreless and hitless until
Justice Malone singled up the middle for the Big Green. The momentum followed Dartmouth into the fourth with Hall recording two strikeouts in a one-two-three inning. Niles recorded a single in the bottom of the fifth after another one-two-three inning from the Big Green in the top of the fifth. Yet another one-two-three inning led to the bottom of the seventh.
Â
In the bottom of the seventh, Schramm reached first on an error followed by an
Alaana Panu single through the left side. But three straight outs led to extra innings in Charleston.
Â
With an Ohio runner placed on second in the top of the eighth, Abby Kennell singled and moved the runner to third. The next Ohio batter, Cici Keidel, singled to center field and drove in a runner to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the eighth, Niles was placed on second.
Cwen Wilson singled and moved Niles to third to have two runners on base. Wilson stole second but it was not enough for the Big Green.
Â
GAME 2: Dartmouth 10, College of Charleston 2
The Big Green wasted no time getting the bats active with Panu singling on the first pitch of the game.
Faby Serna cracked a double to center field to drive Panu home and take a 1-0 lead. Malone also started the game hot with a double to right center that brought Serna around the bases and home, 2-0 Dartmouth.
Rachel McCarroll struck out one batter in the bottom of the first.
Â
A sacrifice fly from the College of Charleston allowed them to score and make the game 2-1 Big Green in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third,
Leila Hennessy and Schramm singled to get themselves on base. A Beauvais double to right center brought in Hennessy and Schramm, 4-1 Big Green.
Â
The top of the fourth only brought more hits for the Big Green. Hennessy hit a single and a Schramm double brought her into score. Malone knocked another single and a Niles single sent both Malone and Schramm home. Beauvais also recorded a single in the inning. Â
Â
In the top of the fifth, Hennessy was able to get on base off an error. Schramm got on base after a walk and Niles drove them both in on a single. The bottom of the fifth also saw a run for the Cougars, 10-2, and the Big Green took the victory in five innings.
