Dartmouth Sweeps BU For Seventh Win Of the Spring

HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth men's tennis team completed a 2-0 home weekend on Sunday afternoon. The Big Green completed a clean sweep of Boston University with a 7-0 win.

Doubles

Dartmouth started the day strong in first doubles. Alex Knox-Jones and Henry Ren won their first doubles match 6-2.

Miles Groom and Hikaru Takeda played second doubles on Sunday and won 6-1 as Dartmouth won the doubles point.

Carlos Guerrero Alvarez and Zihao Yuan were slated to play third doubles. They won by default as BU did not field a third doubles team.

Singles

Guerrero Alvarez played in first singles on Sunday. He won the opening set 6-0 and then completed the sweep with a 6-0 win in the second set.

Takeda notched his second win of the day in second singles. He won the first set 6-4. He secured his seventh win of the spring with a 6-1 win in the second set.

Yujiro Onuma improved to 6-3 this season as he played in third singles. He won his opening set 6-3 and then secured the win with a 6-0 sweep in the second set.

Yuan played a near perfect match in fourth singles, he won 6-1 in the first set. In the second set he swept his opponent 6-0 for the win.

Leo Pade picked up he first NCAA dual match win as he played fifth singles on Sunday. He won the opening set 6-4 and then closed out the win with a 6-2 win in the second set.

Denny Bao won by default in sixth singles as BU did not have a player in sixth singles.

The Big Green return to Boss Tennis Center on Saturday, Mar. 1 as Dartmouth hosts NJIT and Quinnipiac. The NJIT match will start at 9 AM while the Quinnipiac match will start at 4 PM.
