VIERA, Fla. – In their first tournament of the spring season, the Big Green made their way south to the Columbia Classic, held at the Duran Golf Club. Led by
Olivia Cong, the Big Green finished the first day of competition in fifth.
Cong shot a 69 (-3) through the first round, followed by a 76 (+4) in the second round to finish the day in fourth place with a 145 (+1). She collected six birdies on the day, including five in the first round.
Caroline Chung was the next Big Green finisher, currently sitting in 19
th with a +6. Chung shot a 73 (+1) in the first round and a 77(+5) in the second round. She also added four birdies through the two rounds.
Sitting tied for 21
st overall is
Claire Xu with a +7. She shot a +3 with two birdies in the first round and a +4 in the second round, also tallying two birdies.
The last member of the Big Green's score to count in the play five, count four tournament was
Lauren Pham. Pham finished the day in 33
rd with. +9. In the first round, Pham shot a +5 with two birdies, followed by a +4 with one birdie in the second round.
Alissa Xu also competed for the Big Green, posting a +11.
Amanda Adams is competing as an individual this weekend, finishing Day 1 of competition with a +21. She posted a +4 in the first round with two birdies before shooting a +17 in the second round.

Alex Kirk was happy with the way his team played, especially through round one, describing it as consistent.
Temperatures rose and wind picked up for the second round in the afternoon, but Kirk and his team are just happy to be outside and back on the course for the final round Sunday.
"I think we can clean up mistakes and improve our score tomorrow, but overall, it is great to be outside seeing the ball fly," Kirk said. "We need to continue to sharpen our game to start our spring run to defend our Ivy League Title."
