Pierce Joins Adirondack Thunder For First Pro Season

GLEN FALLS, N.Y.—The Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL announced the signing of Dartmouth defensemen Ian Pierce on Monday.

Pierce spent the last four seasons as a staple of the Big Green defense core. The Edgewater, N.J. native skated in 101 games for Dartmouth while scoring nine goals and adding 31 assists.

As a first year in 2021-22 he skated in 31 games while scoring four goals along with 10 assists. Following a 14-point first season he was named an All-Ivy Honorable Mention. As a sophomore he tallied two goals and four assists in 25 games. In 2023-24, Pierce scored twice while adding nine assists. As a senior he skated in 24 games while scoring once, he added eight assists despite missing games due to injury.

This season he tallied three multipoint games which included a three point game against Quinnipiac on Jan. 31, 2025. In his career he tallied nine multipoint games.

Pierce becomes the fourth member of the Big Green to sign pro this year. He joins, Cooper Flinton (TB), Luke Haymes (TOR), and Sean Chisholm (TEX).
