On Thursday, the Big Green began National Championship season with day one of racing at the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Open Team Race National Championship.

After one day of competition, Dartmouth sits in fourth place with an 8-3 overall record.

Dartmouth started the day with wins over fellow Ivy League's Harvard and Yale. The Big Green earned first, second, and fifth finishing positions against the Crimson and followed with sweeping the middle finishing positions against the Bulldogs.

The Big Green dropped races to Stanford and Navy before bouncing back with a win over the Boston College Eagles. Dartmouth took the first, third, and sixth place finishing positions in that win.

In its next race, Dartmouth defeated another Ivy league foe, Brown, thanks to first, second, and sixth place finishing positions.

It then earned back-to-back wins against Tulane and Tufts, posting second, third, and fourth place finishing positions in both races.

The Big Green took a win over Michigan, sweeping the top three finishing positions over the Wolverines.

In their tenth race of the day, the Big Green got a win over Georgetown, securing first, third, and fifth place finishing positions.

Yale sits in first place with a 9-2 overall record. Harvard and Roger Williams have an identical 8-2 record, but the Crimson sit in second place due to defeating the Hawks.

Day 2 of the Open Team Race National Championship will resume Friday. The Big Green will sail against Roger Williams, Charleston, Coast Guard and Bowdoin to wrap up competition in the Round of 16. You will be able to stream competition on ESPN+.
