After the conclusion of the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Open Team Race National Championship on Saturday, the Big Green shifted their focus and got back on the water for the ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship.
Through one day of competition, the Big Green sit in fifth place, posting a 5-4 overall record.
Dartmouth completed all but two races in Round 1 Sunday, earning wins over Charleston, Cornell, Harvard, MIT, and Tufts. The Big Green earned first and second place finishing positions in two of their five wins, finishing first, second, and fifth against both Cornell and Harvard.
The Big Green went first, third, and fourth in their win over Charleston and first, third and sixth to earn the win against the MIT Engineers.
The other win on day one of racing came against Tufts. Despite not earning a first place finishing position, Dartmouth swept the middle positions, finishing second, third, and fourth to seal the win.
Dartmouth's four losses came against Georgetown, Penn, Stanford and Yale. The Big Green did earn a second-place finishing position against Penn but couldn't secure the win.
The Big Green will return to action tomorrow for the final day of the Women's Team Race National Championship. They will wrap Round 1 sailing with races against Brown and Tulane and move onto the next round if they qualify.
