Big Green Fall To Princeton In Ivy Road Match

PRINCETON, N.J.—Dartmouth men's tennis fell 7-0 to Princeton on Sunday afternoon in New Jersey.

Doubles

Henry Ren and Miles Groom played second doubles on Sunday afternoon. The Dartmouth duo fell 6-1 to their counterparts from Princeton.

The Tigers took the doubles point as Yujiro Onuma and Waleed Qadir fell 6-3 in first doubles.

Alex Knox-Jones and Denny Bao were leading 5-3 in third doubles when the match was stopped due to Princeton taking the doubles point.

Singles

Takeda played second singles on Sunday. He won four games in the first set against No. 40 Paul Inchauspe but fell 6-4 in the first set. He fell 6-2 as Princeton took the second point of the day.

Groom was slotted in fourth singles against the Tigers. Groom fell 6-4, 6-2 as Princeton took a 3-0 lead in the match.

Knox-Jones rebounded for a strong set in fifth singles after fall 6-1 in the first set. He won five games in the second set but fell 7-5 as Princeton clinched the match.

Carlos Guerrero Alvarez played first singles against Princeton. After falling 6-4 in the first set, he responded with a 6-4 win of his own in the second set. Guerrero Alvarez fell in the tiebreaker to No. 71 Fnu Nidunjianzan.

Onuma played a tight three set match in sixth singles. Onuma won the first set 6-2 but fell 7-6 in the second set. Onuma looked to win the tiebreaker but fell as Princeton notched its sixth point.

Ren played the final match of the day in third singles. Ren fell 6-2 in the opening set but won the second set 7-5 to force a third set. He lost the tiebreaker set 1-0 (3).

The Big Green return to Boss Tennis Center on Friday, April 11 as Yale travels to Hanover. First serve is slated for 2 PM, following the match Dartmouth heads to Brown for its final road match of the season on Sunday, April 13.
