The women's sailing team took to the water for the first day of the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Women's Fleet Race National Championship, Tuesday.
After five races in the women's eastern national semifinal, the Big Green sit in sixth place with 19 points.
Dartmouth started racing in the A Division with a second-place finishing position. It then finished fifth in the second race to bring its total to seven points.
In the first B Division race, the Big Green finished 12th, securing seventh place through the first day of racing.
They then finished eighth in the second race, bringing their total points to 27 to bump them from seventh place overall to sixth place overall.
In the final race of the day, the third A Division race, the Big Green earned the ninth finishing position, bringing them to 36 total points, good for seventh place.
Stanford leads the way having posted only six points in three A Division races and four points in the two B Division races. Cornell jumped all the way to second place thanks to only five points in B Division races.
Penn, MIT, and Boston College are all tied at third place with 31 points. The Big Gren are only four points out of sixth place, held by the Harvard Crimson.
Georgetown leads the western semifinal with 17 total points, 12 in the A Division and five in the B Division. Yale sits in second with 18 total points while Brown rounds out the top three with 29 points.
The Big Green will return to action Wednesday for the second day of semifinal racing in the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship.
