Dartmouth Sailing started racing at the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Open Fleet Race National Championship, Tuesday. Through eight races, the Big Green sit in fourth place.

The Big Green got out to a slow start in the first two A Division races, collecting 11th and 14th place finishing positions to find themselves in 15th overall.

Six straight top 10 finishes moved them all the way into fourth place with 62 total points. The Big Green earned fifth and eighth place finishing positions in the first two B Division races before the A Division bounced back with an eighth-place finish.

In the third B Division race, Dartmouth earned the first place finishing position. The A Division responded, finishing sixth for its highest finish of the regatta.

The final race of the day saw the B Division finish ninth, helping the Big Green sit in fourth through the first day of ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship Semifinal racing.

The Big Green's 23 B Division points are currently fourth best in the field while their 39 A Division points is seventh best.

Dartmouth will return to the water tomorrow, and must finish in the top nine to advance to championship sailing.

Stanford leads the way with 28 points followed by Bowdoin (37) and Yale (51). The Big Green in fourth place have a two point advantage over fifth place Georgetown.
