Dartmouth Tabbed Fourth In ECAC Hockey Poll

DANBURY, Conn.—ECAC Hockey announced the results of its annual coaches' poll on Thursday. Dartmouth men's hockey has been tabbed fourth in the league and Dartmouth defensemen CJ Foley has been named to the Preseason All-ECAC Team.

The Big Green finished in fifth place in the ECAC after going 12-9-1 in ECAC play and 18-13-2 overall. Dartmouth also captured its first Ivy League title since 2007; it was the first sole Ivy League title since the 1979-80 season. Dartmouth finished the season with an 8-2-0 Ivy League record while sweeping Cornell, Harvard, and Brown. Dartmouth returns 19 players for the 2025-26 season while adding eight first years. The Big Green return their top two scorers in Foley and Nikita Nikora and three of their top five scorers from last season. Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey, Reid Cashman enters his sixth year (fifth season) as the bench boss for the Big Green. Over the last three seasons Dartmouth has gone from five wins in 2022-23 to 13 in 2023-24 to 18 wins in 2024-25.

Foley broke out for the Big Green as a sophomore; he played in 33 games while scoring 11 goals and adding 19 assists from the blueline. He was the only unanimous selection the Preseason All-ECAC Team. Last season, the Hanover, Mass native was named Ivy League Player of the Year, All-ECAC First Team, All-Ivy First Team, an ECAC Player of the Year Finalist among other honors. He led ECAC defensemen in goals, points, and points per game while finishing 10^th in the ECAC in points per game. It is the second straight year that Dartmouth has landed a player on the Preseason All-ECAC team.

The Big Green open the 2025-26 season with a preseason scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 26 against Norwich at 3 PM at Thompson Arena. Dartmouth kicks off the regular season at Warrior Ice Arena in Boston against Stonehill on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Big Green host Yale in a non-conference game in their home opener on Nov. 2 at 5 PM.
