HANOVER, N.H.—Jada Jones of Dartmouth women's track & field and Sam Boulanger of men's squash have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.
Sam Boulanger, Fy., Calgary, Alta., Men's Squash
Sam Boulanger was a key factor in Dartmouth men's squash going 2-1 over the weekend. The first-year played in the fourth position in all three matches and won all three matches. He started the weekend with a five game win over Amherst. He fell 13-11 in the opening game but responded with an 11-2 win in the second game and a 11-6 win in the third game. He secured the win with an 11-5 in the fifth game. On Saturday against Cornell, he needed just three games as he won 11-6, 11-7, and 11-3. He secured the perfected weekend with a 3-1 win on Sunday against Columbia. He won the opening game 15-13 and then fell 11-5 in the second game, he took the 2-1 lead with an 11-1 win in the third game. He took the win with an 11-9 win in the fourth game.
Jada Jones, Senior, Rock Hill, S.C., Women's Track & Field
Jada Jones, the reigning champion of the indoor and outdoor 200m, set another program record on Saturday at the annual Dartmouth-Yale-Columbia meet in New Haven, Conn. The senior sprinter finished the 60m in 7.42, winning the event for the Big Green and shaving four seconds off her previous personal best.
