NEW YORK, N.Y.—Dartmouth men's squash players Wei Yan Tho and Arihant Kalamangalan Sunil competed in the CSA Individual Championship in New York City this weekend.
Kalamangalan Sunil drew the 19th seed and took on a player from Penn in the round of 64. He won the first game 11-3 but dropped the second game 11-3. The third and fourth games were both 12-10 games, Kalamangalan Sunil fell in both games.
Tho drew the 43rd seed in the tournament and face Rohan Gondi from Yale in the first round. Tho dropped the first two games 11-3 and 11-9, but responded with an 11-8 win in the third game. The comeback came up short as Tho fell 11-3 in the fourth game. He moved into the consolation bracket and took on Rustin Wiser from Penn. Tho won the first two games 13-11 and 11-9. After falling 11-3 he won the match with an 11-6 win in the fourth game.
The Big Green are back in action with a pair of matches this weekend. Dartmouth travels to New Haven, Conn. on Friday, Jan. 30 to take on Yale at 4 PM. The Big Green then return home to take on Trinity on Sunday, Feb. 1 at Berry Squash Courts at 3 PM.
