HANOVER, N.H. -Â The top-ranked Dartmouth equestrian team continued its unbeaten season with a convincing 8-1 win over Centenary University on Saturday.Â
It was another strong first-half performance for the Big Green, as they took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
Grace Russo '29,
Cassidy Exner '27,
Ellie Sadrian '30, and
Camilla Jerng '29 won their head-to-head matchups 74-70, 84-69, 73-71, 77-68, respectively, while
Lucinda Exner '29 tied her matchup 76-76.
With the tie, the number of points needed for Dartmouth to win the meet outright was reduced to five heading into the jumping portion of the competition.
"Five really good rides," said head coach
Tenley Walsh. "To keep Centenary off the board was a huge accomplishment for that group. They were excellent."
Out of the break, Russo (80-76), Exner (84.5-78), Jerng (83-73), and Sadrian (84-78.5) picked up their second points of the day, bringing the final score to 8-1.Â
'I was happy to see our team execute our plan and not ease up," said Walsh. "Everyone did their job."
Cassidy Exner earned both of the meet's Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) awards for her victories, and brought her combined record on the season to 8-0.
