Stavroff Named Ivy Player of the Year
PRINCETON, N.J.—The Ivy League announced its All-Ivy and major awards on Wednesday for men's hockey. Dartmouth's Hayden Stavroff has been named Ivy League Player of the Year while also being named First Team All-Ivy along with his linemate Hank Cleaves. Emmett Croteau and CJ Foley each earned Second Team All-Ivy honors while Cam MacDonald was named Academic All-Ivy.
Stavroff was dominant in Ivy League play in 2025-26 as he scored 10 goals and added 11 assists in 10 games. The sophomore tallied 32 shots on goal and three power play goals in Ivy League play. The Columbus, Ohio, native tallied points in eight of the 10 games while having six multi point games in Ivy play. On Dec. 5 he scored four times and added an assist against Brown in a 7-3 win. Overall this season, Stavroff leads the country in goals with 27 while having a career high 44 points. It is the second time in his career that he has been named All-Ivy after being named Second Team All-Ivy last season.
Cleaves is also having a career season as a sophomore, he has set new career highs in goals with 14, assists with 21, and points with 35. In Ivy League play, Cleaves tallied nine goals along with 10 assists in 10 games. He also notched a 55.4 faceoff percentage as he won 118 draws in Ivy play. The Riverside, Conn. native notched points in nine of 10 Ivy game while having six multi point games. The sophomore tallied four points against Brown on Dec. 5 and added three points the next night against Yale to complete a seven point weekend.
Croteau lands on the All-Ivy team for the second straight season after being named Second Team All-Ivy last season. The junior played eight Ivy League games this season while having a goals against average of 2.34 and a .900 save percentage. He finished with a 4-2-2 record with wins over Cornell, Yale, and two against Harvard. Against Cornell on Jan. 23 the Bonnyville, Alta. native made 29 saves against the Big Red. Overall this season, the Richter Award semifinalist has a .915 save percentage and a 2.13 goals against average.
Foley earns his third straight All-Ivy honor after being named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2023-24 and being named First Team All-Ivy and Ivy League Player of the Year last season. The junior tallied five points in Ivy League play with five assists. He finished Ivy League play on a three-game point streak with points against Yale, Brown, and Princeton. The Hanover, Mass. has three goals and 16 assists this season through 30 regular season games.
MacDonald has been named Academic All-Ivy for the second straight season after having a career season as a senior. In 29 games this season he has five goals and a career high 14 assists and 19 points. He tallied four points in Ivy League play while scoring against Cornell on Jan. 23 and adding two assists against Brown on Dec. 5.
No. 12 Dartmouth returns to Thompson Arena on Friday, Mar. 13 for the first game of a three game ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series against Colgate.
