Men's Tennis Wraps California Trip Against LMU and UC Irvine

Irvine, Calif. – The Dartmouth men's tennis team wrapped up its California trip with a pair of competitive matches, falling to No. 58 Loyola Marymount before dropping a narrow 4-3 decision to UC Irvine.
Dartmouth opened the trip in Los Angeles against a nationally ranked LMU squad. The Lions claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two to take an early 1-0 lead. In singles play, the Big Green earned two victories to keep the match close.
Miles Groom rallied after dropping the opening set to defeat Emil Kindhult in three sets at No. 3 singles, while Yujiro Onuma added another point with a three-set victory at No. 5. Loyola Marymount secured the remaining singles matches to take the 5-2 team win.
Two days later, Dartmouth pushed UC Irvine to the brink in a tightly contested matchup at Anteater Tennis Stadium. The Anteaters took the doubles point with wins on courts two and three to grab the early advantage.
Dartmouth responded in singles play with three victories across the lineup. Denny Bao earned a straight-set win at No. 6 singles, while Onuma followed with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 5. Groom added Dartmouth's third point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
