DERBY, Conn. – The Dartmouth women's rowing team competed against Yale in the Class of 1985 Cup on Saturday on the Housatonic River.
"It is always a great experience for our team coming to Yale and seeing the high standard across their program. I thought our team handled very challenging conditions well today and ultimately showed encouraging team progress compared to where we were at this race last year. I thought the 2V8 and 1V4 had particularly strong races and have made big strides over the last few weeks." John Graves, the Elizabeth C. McNabb Head Coach of Women's Rowing, said.
Dartmouth opened the day in the Varsity Eight, finishing second with a time of 6:10.0. The Big Green followed in the Second Varsity Eight, crossing the line in 6:17.2, and added another runner-up result in the Third Varsity Eight, posting a time of 6:32.8.
The Big Green placed second in the Varsity Four with a time of 7:01.4, while the Second Varsity Four recorded a time of 7:15.0. Yale also fielded a third varsity four entry in the event.
"We just finished a really challenging 3-week gauntlet of away racing and we are excited to be at home for the next couple of weeks before we head into our championship season" Graves added.
The Big Green will be home this weekend to host Northeastern at Lake Morey on Saturday.
