TAMPA, Fla. – Dartmouth women's sailing competed in the final day of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Women's Fleet Race Championship, Monday, finishing the regatta in 12th place.
The Big Green's A Division posted 154 total points while the B Division scored 93 points, as Dartmouth finished in 12th with 247 total points. The Big Green finished with the same score as George Washington but held the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Dartmouth sailed in 12 races on the second and final day of championship racing, as the two divisions combined for five top five finishes.
Both teams got out to a hot start on the second day of championship racing, both earning top five finishing positions. The A Division claimed second overall in their first race of the day while the B Division finished fifth.
The A Division earned one more top five finish, sailing to fourth in their fourth race of the day and tenth of the regatta.
The B Division posted a third-place finish, their best of the day, in their ninth race and wrapped the day with a fourth-place finish. The Big Green also finished in the top tenth in their second to last race, claiming the tenth finishing position.
The Big Green will now immediately shift their focus to their final regatta of the season, competing in the ICSA Open Fleet Race Championship beginning on Tuesday, May 19. The regatta will begin with semifinal sailing on both Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20 before championship sailing begins on Thursday, May 21.
