ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Dartmouth women's cross country competed in the Friar Invitational, hosted by Providence College, at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park. The course was named after former Dartmouth Head Women's Cross Country Coach, Mark Coogan, who coached the Big Green for four years.
It was a solid opener for the Big Green today at the Friar Invite, Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, said. This was a great opportunity to view the course that will host HEPS in 8 weeks. We look forward to competing at our home invite in two weeks.
The Big Green finished in eighth place in the 4K race at the Friar Invitational. They were led by Emmy Thornton, who was the first runner who crossed the finish line for Dartmouth, in a time of 14:58.7, in 27th place. Esme Daplyn finished second for Dartmouth, in a time of 15:03.0, in 32nd place.
The third Dartmouth runner to cross the finish line was Annamaria Bacchetta, who finished in a time of 15:28.6, in 44th place.
