Women's Rowing
vs Gardner Cup
Q & A with Sarah Rutter
Why Dartmouth?
I think this question can only
be answered with a campus visit. When I stood on the Green for the first time
and met my future teammates at the boathouse, I knew there was something
extraordinary about Dartmouth and its students that I wouldn't find at any
other school. There's a passion and energy here that you can't describe in
words.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I started rowing my junior
spring in high school, and I have to admit I was drawn to the cult-like
intensity of the team. Everyone was there to give 110%. I liked that.
Have you won any academic or rowing awards recently?
The 2010 Martha Beattie
'76 Award, to the Outstanding Freshman Oarswoman; 2010 Novice
Women Crash D's; 2011 CRCA Scholar Athlete
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I think my teammates know me too
well for anything to come as a surprise to them.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I'm involved in Aquinas House,
the Catholic Student Center, and the Dartmouth Interfaith Community.
What are your future plans, if any?
I have always wanted to be an architect, and I hope to
pursue that dream in graduate school.
