Q & A with Shia Li Lum
Why Dartmouth?
I was drawn to Dartmouth because of the tightness of the community and the picturesque setting. Also, I loved the fact that everyone I met when I came to visit had so much energy!
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
This is my first year-I walked on as a coxswain in the fall. I've always enjoyed being on competitive sports teams, and after talking to some of my friends who had walked on, I decided that I wanted to try it out as well. I've been loving the sport and the team ever since!
What is something that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I can't drive yet. All of my friends from home tease me about the fact that I can't drive, but not many people at Dartmouth know about this.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
At the moment, only rowing.
What are your future plans, if any?
I'm still trying to narrow down and focus my interests, but I think I want to pursue a major in the sciences.
