Q&A with Audrey Landis
Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth for the great academics, beautiful location, and the openness of the curriculum. Even though I knew I wanted to study engineering, I wanted to be able to take classes in many subjects. I also thought the campus was gorgeous and wanted to take advantage of all the outdoors opportunities.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I walked onto the team on a whim my sophomore year. I didn't know anything about rowing, but I loved the team and working hard. Being able to make progress so quickly was really rewarding, so I stuck with it and ended up loving the sport.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I originally started recruiting for field hockey, but didn't go through with it because I decided I didn't want to be a college athlete.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Besides rowing, I am a UGA, a tutor, and a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
What are your future plans, if any?
Right now, "the future" encompasses anything more than three days away; that is to say, I don't have much of a plan. I know I want to travel and have a dog at some point in my life, but the rest is wide open.
