Q and A with Alexander Schulz
Why Dartmouth?
I pretty much always knew that Dartmouth was the place I wanted to go. Some combination of the campus, the people, and of course the ski team all appealed to me since I was young and coming here for Homecomings to visit my older brother.
How long have you been skiing and what got you interested in skiing?
I have been skiing since I could walk. My family was one that always had me skiing around, and so I gradually moved to racing, had a knack for it, and haven't looked back since.
Have you won any academic or skiing awards recently?
All-American for an eighth-place finish in the sprint at the 2009 Junior Nationals in Truckee, California
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I hate skiing in the cold, I would rather ski in sun and warmth any day.
What are your future plans, if any?
I have nothing really concrete for after college, except that I want to keep skiing, probably as part of sponsored racing team, and see how fast I can get and how far I can go in ski racing.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Psi Upsilon fraternity
