Hirschbuhl joined the alpine skiing staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2023, providing help in various areas, from formulating training plans to travel logistics to recruiting.
He will serve as an assistant coach for the second straight year for the 2025 season.
Coach Hirschbuhl also works with Dartmouth’s ITC Research Computing team as a Generative Artificial Intelligence Research Intern. Where he collaborates with principal investigators to conduct gen AI research within medicine.
Hirschbuhl began his coaching career while enrolled at UVM, serving as a downhill mountain bike and alpine coach at Killington Mountain School from 2020-22. During the year before coming to Dartmouth, he was the alpine coach at Mt. Mansfield Academy.
The native of Woodstock, Vermont began his collegiate career on the ski team at Castleton University before transferring to the University of Vermont, where he earned his degree in health science in 2023.
