Competed in five carnivals, racing in four freestyle races and five classic races... Finished in the top 20 in all nine races... Won the St. Michael's 3x5 Classic relay... Best individual classic finish was fourth in the Bates Sprint... Highest freestyle finish was tenth in the St. Lawrence 20K.
FIRST-YEAR (2024)
Placed 13th overall, third best among Dartmouth skiers, in the 7.5k freestyle at the Colby Carnival, her first competition ... Raced the 15k relay at the Williams Carnival.
HIGH SCHOOL
Won sprint classic and took third in the spring freestyle at juniors in March of 2023 … earned the Spanish Prize as well as the George Henry Brown English Prize at BB&N as a senior.

Full name is Evelyn Day Walton … born on Sept. 6, 2004 in Boston, Massachusetts … daugher of Philip and Allison Walton has one brother … uncle Brad Bates was a rower and Nordic skier in the Dartmouth Class of 1991 … both parents were athletes in college, father rowed at Williams and mother played lacrosse at Colby … grandfather John Twomey swam at Southern Connecticut, and she has cousins who skied at Middlebury (Calvin Bates) and Williams (Lilly Bates) … interested in studying economics and math … enjoys biking, reading, crossword puzzles and working with kids.
