Mark Ingram was added to Mark Egner's staff as a volunteer assistant coach in October 2020.
Â
Ingram will work remotely, but closely with the Big Green goalkeepers this fall. A seasoned veteran of coaching goalies, Ingram has held similar positions in Ireland with Hockey Ireland (2014-18), Leinster Hockey (2013-18), Muckross Park College (2014-18) and the Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club (2013-16).
Â
As a player, Ingram was a professional keeper with HC Rotterdam in The Netherlands from 2018-20. In that time, he would play two league games a week and spend the other five in intense training, both physical and technical. He would also work numerous international training camps throughout the year, establishing himself as one of the hardest working young coaches and players in the sport.
Â
“Mark will be a fantastic addition to our staff,” Egner said. “Having played together years ago, I’ve been following his playing career closely. His experiences as a high-performance player will benefit our whole team, while his expertise as a goalkeeper will be invaluable for providing a high-quality experience as we deal with the challenges of a dispersed squad this season.”
Â
Ingram graduated with honors as he received a Bachelor of Business degree in accounting and finance from the Institute of Technology Tallaght in 2018, while also serving as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s hockey teams.
